Senior Safety Seminars" Today's Topic - Hitting the Open Road - Traveling Safety
If you are a senior, chances are you are quite
worried about crime. But the truth is all people are
generally at the same risk of being victimized, the
key is preparation. To assist you in making
yourself safe, the Des Moines Police Department
will be holding monthly safety seminars at the Des
M oines Activity Center.
Everyone needs to take precautions no matter who they are, what they
a re doing or what limitations they may face.
Please join us on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 11:00am when
we come together to explore ways to keep you safe!

Preparedness Course - three classes, Thursdays, June 5th
thru 19th, 2-3:30pm. Des Moines Activity Center, Open
to all adults. Register today $12.
These classes are taught by the American Red Cross of
King and Kitsap Counties. Come learn how to become
prepared, what to do, and where to go in the event of an
emergency situation. If you attend all 3 classes you will
receive an individual emergency kit, flashlight and radio.

Along with the opening of the Farmer's Market, the Waterfront Mural will be dedicated and there will be a Childern's Arts Festival. The mural presentation is at noon. The Children's Festival will be hosted from 10am to 2pm. The children headline entertainiment is from 12-12:30pm.
