Des Moines Pet Festival
Due to overwhelming success and public demand, the Des Moines Pet Festival is making a return appearance. The purpose of the event is to improve the relationship our community has with its pets through education, opportunity and fun.
Last year, over 600 hundred people and their pets came out for demonstrations, information, contests and prizes. This year's event is sure to be as big as ever!
Who will be at the Des Moines Pet Festival?
Demonstrations that have been confirmed so far will include agility, rally, and obedience. Other demonstrations are to be announced as they are added.
Vendors will include veterinarians, pet stores, groomers, local artists, dog trainers, shelters, non-profit organizations, local businesses and of course all sorts of cool pet products.
The best part of the day will be the pet competitions. We will be crowning a King and Queen of the festival as well as best trick, ugliest pet, and even a costume contest.
What changes are planned for this year?
CONTINUATION OF VENUE FOR ONE MORE YEAR - As the city is renovating the Field House we will be at the beach park again this year. The added advantage to this venue is its water front beauty and the connection with the Farmers Market at the other end of the other end of the Marina.
SHORTER HOURS - We are growing with the inclusion of an Agility, Rally and Obedience fun match sponsored by Family Dog so we will run from 9-2.
Where, when and how do I sign up?
The Des Moines Pet Festival will be held at the Des Moines Beach Park, 22030 Cliff Avenue South Des Moines, WA on August 1st from 9 to 2pm. Admission is free for the community.
Vendors need to fill out the attached application and waiver to Christine Corbley at the address listed on the application. The vendor cost is only $45 for profit organizations and $30 for non-profits.
This is a Destination Des Moines event sponsored by the Des Moines Parks & Recreation Department.

Located in a beautiful setting with stunning views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, the market serves as a community gathering place for people in the south Seattle area to meet up with their neighbors and interact with local family farmers. The market will feature about thirty vendors with a bounty of farm fresh vegetables, fruits, and eggs, as well as cut flowers and unique local crafts.
