It just wouldn't be the Fourth without fireworks! A spectacular 20 minute
fireworks display over the historic Des Moines waterfront will begin at
10:00 p.m. Bring your family, picnic, lawn chairs or blankets and sit back
and watch the fireworks show. A $1 per person donation is requested
at entry points to support the event. No personal fireworks, alcohol,
portable BBQs, pets or vehicles will be allowed inside gated areas at
Des Moines Marina north parking lot or Beach Park. For information
regarding handicap parking, please call Des Moines Marina at 206-
824-5700.
The success of Fireworks Over Des Moines depends on
community and business donations as well as volunteer support.

Event Title: Elder Care/Safety Day - Farmers Market

The annual Elder Care & Safety Day will have many additions to our usual goodies including South King Fire, Senior Services, DMPD and representatives from the local retirement communities. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to keep yourself safe and find out what is available for you in our great community.
South King Fire & Rescue will have an aid car and fire engine for people to tour.EMTs will be giving tests for High Blood Pressure and Glucose levels. They will also be giving out information for the Fall Prevention, Balance and Fall Screening program.
The Des Moines Police will have a patrol car and community service officer talking about emergency preparedness and other safety issues.
Look for all this activity at the North end of the market shopping area.
