National Night Out is an annual event design to celebrate community.
It is the one night a year that is dedicated to encouraging neighbors,
police and others to improve the quality of life in Des Moines.
Key Message of National Night Out
o Cohesive, healthy neighborhoods are key to preventing crime and violence.
o Active blockwatch groups build community, increase hope and create harmony.
o Positive activities displace negative activity.
o Combating crime is a partnership of citizens and police.
National Night Out is an opportunity for all parts of the community
including businesses, religious institutions and city agencies to come
together around the goal of a safe and healthy community.
If your neighborhood would be interested in participating in this
year's event, please contact CSO Tonya Seaberry at (206)870-7619 or tseaberry@desmoineswa.gov.

watching the ball game, your casino nights, or even the gardening!
They'll still be there when you get back! So drop a line and support

Flute Quest brings together internationally acclaimed flutists, accomplished local musicians,
those who want to learn to play, and persons who simply enjoy listening to the Native American
flute. Makers will offer instruments suitable for all levels of performance from beginner to pro, or
fair goers can bid on instruments in the silent auction. Experienced musicians will lead workshops
at all levels. Experienced musicians will also lead flute, drum, and didgeridoo circles under the
festival teepee. Such circles are excellent places to try out newly developed playing skills.
Budding performers can take advantage of the open microphone on the "New Breath" day stage.
Many of these activities will be free.
We are honored to work in partnership with Washington State Parks. We know that this
location will give us the opportunity to expose more people to the Native American flute;
our circles will grow wider and our community will expand.
This event is family oriented and is alcohol, tobacco and drug free.
